How I juggle college and sports with kids

Being a parent to kids who do sports is hard in its self, but parents who work or go to school on top of it makes it extremely hard. We are told how important it is to be there for our kid’s activities and I am not saying it isn’t. I go to everything they do. But I do it with help from my sports family or close friends. I might not take them to every practice myself which now it’s because it’s right after school but games I push my school work to the side until their game is over. When they are playing and I’m yelling (yes, I hoot and haller) it’s all about them and they know it’s about them. I make sure not to complain about my extra stress that still needs done for all I want them to know is that I love them. Being a mom who goes to college I had to realize that it is okay to ask for help and that it doesn’t make you a bad parent.

My son is number 13. I drove from college to this game. I missed the first 6 minutes but he saw me when I walked in and I got a smile.
